Why Use Colorizador de Fotos?

Services like MyHeritage Colorize and Palette.fm produce beautiful results, but they upload your family photos to a third-party server and often require a paid subscription for high-resolution output. Zeraku's Photo Colorizer runs the AI model entirely in your browser — your personal and historical photos stay completely private. Free, unlimited, and no account required.

Beginner's Guide

Photo Colorizer uses artificial intelligence to automatically add colour to black-and-white photographs. It is perfect for restoring old family photos, historical images, or any greyscale picture. Simply upload the photo — the AI analyses the content of the image (sky, skin, foliage, clothing) and applies realistic colours automatically. You can download the colourised result instantly. No artistic skill or manual painting is required.

Technical Details

Uses a DeOldify-inspired convolutional neural network converted from PyTorch to ONNX format and executed via ONNX Runtime Web in a dedicated Web Worker. The model operates in the CIE LAB colour space: the greyscale input image provides the L (luminance) channel, and the network predicts the A (green–red) and B (blue–yellow) channels. The LAB output is converted to sRGB for display. Images larger than 512×512 px are tiled with 32 px overlap and the tiles are blended with a Gaussian weight mask to eliminate seams. The ONNX model is cached in the browser Cache API after the first download. No pixel data is ever sent to a server.
