Why Use Bildkomprimierung?

TinyPNG and Squoosh are popular, but TinyPNG uploads your images to a remote server and applies server-side compression, while Squoosh handles one file at a time. Zeraku's Image Compressor processes up to 20 images simultaneously in parallel Web Workers — all inside your browser, with no server upload. Faster batch processing, complete privacy, and no file-count limits per month.

How Zeraku Compares to Popular Image Compressors

TinyPNG uploads your images to a remote server. Squoosh handles one file at a time. Zeraku compresses up to 20 images in parallel, entirely in your browser.

Beginner's Guide

Image compression reduces the file size of photos without making them look visibly worse. Smaller images load faster on websites, take less storage space, and are easier to share. To use this tool: drag your images onto the page (JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF), adjust the quality slider to balance size and quality, then download the compressed files. You can process up to 20 images at once. The original files are never changed — you always get a brand-new compressed copy.

Technical Details

JPEG and WebP compression use the browser's native canvas.toBlob() API with a configurable quality parameter (0–1). PNG compression uses a two-stage pipeline: lossy palette reduction via a WASM-compiled build of pngquant (Floyd–Steinberg dithering, configurable quality range), followed by lossless deflate optimisation via oxipng. GIF frames are extracted, compressed individually, and re-assembled. All compression jobs run in parallel Web Workers — one worker per file — so batch jobs scale with the device's CPU core count. The original file is never modified; compressed output is generated as a new Blob and offered for download via an object URL.
